Recently obtained documents by The Epoch Times, comprising over 1,400 pages, have unveiled previously redacted information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about adverse reactions following COVID-19 vaccinations. These documents were part of the CDC’s Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment (CISA) project, which monitors health issues post-vaccination reported by healthcare providers.

One email, now unredacted, disclosed that a 30-year-old woman experienced severe chest pain and leg twitching after receiving her COVID-19 vaccine, administered due to a workplace mandate. This information was initially obscured but has since been clarified in the new documents.

The same set of documents revealed several cases of children who developed Kawasaki Disease, a severe inflammatory condition, after vaccination. Notably, a two-year-old boy was treated for symptoms that his doctors suspected might be atypical Kawasaki Disease soon after his vaccination, although he tested negative for COVID-19 multiple times.

Dr. Matthew Oster, a cardiologist associated with the CDC, is quoted in these emails discussing the complexity of diagnosing whether the observed symptoms were due to the vaccine or the disease itself. The documents indicate that terms like “KD” (Kawasaki Disease) and “MIS-C” (multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children) were among the details previously redacted but now revealed to the public.

The CDC has historically linked MIS-C primarily to COVID-19; however, studies have found that cases of MIS-C existed prior to the pandemic and have also occurred in vaccinated individuals without prior COVID-19 infection. The CDC states on its website that it is investigating reports of MIS-C that present with Kawasaki disease-like features.

Further transparency was achieved when an appeal under the Freedom of Information Act prompted the CDC to remove unnecessary redactions, revealing more about the conditions and circumstances reported post-vaccination. This includes the serious implications of Kawasaki Disease detected in younger populations following vaccination, a safety signal initially found in the CDC’s VAERS data analysis in 2022.

These unredacted emails are part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and provide the public with complete information regarding the safety of COVID-19 vaccines, particularly as the CDC continues to monitor and assess vaccine-related health outcomes.
