(KVHT) – No one was injured after a fire broke out at a house in South Sioux City Monday afternoon. Crews were dispatched to the scene around 2:45 and officials with the South Sioux City Fire Department said it took about 20 minutes for them to get the blaze under control. The Sioux City Fire Department and Dakota City Fire were on the scene for mutual aid. Fire officials said there was heavy fire on the front corner of the house which caused a majority of the damage. When firefighters arrived everyone was already out of the house. The fire got up into the attic and went the whole length of the attic structure. South Sioux City Fire Department posted on Facebook saying the cause of the fire was accidental in nature and caused by discarded smoking materials.
