State police investigating boat crash on Cayuga Lake: One airlifted, two hospitalized
New York State Police are investigating a boating accident that happened Wednesday in Tompkins County that sent two people to area hospitals.
The boat accident occurred a little after 1 p.m., according to police, near Myers Park in Lansing. According to police, one boat was struck by another from behind while out on the water.
A 65-year-old was airlifted to a hospital in Syracuse, while a 72-year-old was transported to the Cayuga Medical Center. Both were on the boat that was struck from behind.
The two other occupants of the boat, that hit the other, were not injured.
The Ithaca Fire Department and Lansing Fire Department both responded to the scene.
