$2,000 returned to contractor after it was dropped in parking lot of Auburn restaurant
Last week the owner of Smitty’s Fish House West at 343 Genesee Street in Auburn notified law enforcement that he had found a large sum of money in the parking lot of his business.
It was $2,000, and was packaged in a very specific manner. The Authorities asked anyone who claim it be able to explain that.
Police said in a follow-up positive update, that the money had been returned to its rightful owner. The money reportedly belonged to a contractor who accidentally dropped it after being paid for a job.
In a Facebook post, Police thanked the community for their help in sharing the message and their part in helping the money find it’s way back to it’s rightful owner.
