Alcester Man Dies From Injuries Suffered In January 18th ATV Crash

(KVHT) – A 68-year-old man from Alcester, South Dakota, has died from injuries sustained in an ATV crash on Monday, January 18th. According to authorities, the ATV was traveling westbound on 301st Street near the 478th intersection near Alcester, when the driver lost control causing the vehicle to partially roll and enter a ditch. The driver, and sole occupant of the ATV was Thomas Sailor. He was thrown from the vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries. Sailor was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Hawarden, Iowa and later flown to a Sioux Falls hospital where he died from his injuries on Tuesday, January 19th. The crash is still under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
