Rt. 31 closed for hours after tractor-trailer overturns near Cayuga/Onondaga line
An overturned tractor-trailer resulted in the shut down of State Route 31 near the Cayuga and Onondaga County border yesterday afternoon, according to State Transportation officials.
The closure was in both directions, between Pump Road and Route 317 in Elbridge.
While the closure was expected to last only a couple of hours – officials said that the roadway remained closed around 5:30 p.m., though the initial crash originally occurred around 1:30 p.m.
It’s unknown at what time the roadway re-opened last evening.
The investigation into the accident is on-going.
