Shoplifter charged with attempted murder after hitting store worker

VERO BEACH, Florida – Police say a lady from Orlando ran over a store representative who attempted to stop her during a shoplifting endeavor at a Family Dollar store in Vero Beach.
An shoplifter is dealing with charges of attempted murder after police state she hit an employee who attempted to stop her with her vehicle.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office captured Alexandra Phillipe, 22, on a charge of attempted murder and others. An accessory, Rodrick Robinson, 27, of Apopka, is also dealing with shoplifting charges.
Police said everything started when Robinson attempted to escape the Family Dollar store on 43rd Avenue on Tuesday with an enormous tub loaded up with many dollars worth of product. An employee stopped Robinson close to the fire exit. The two battled over the tub as Robinson jumped into a vehicle with Phillipe in the driver’s seat. A subsequent employee attempted to get the suspects to stop.
The sheriff’s office said as Phillipe drove away she hit a representative. The effect sent him onto the hood of her vehicle. The worker hung on as she turned through the parking garage prior to giving up. He endured wounds to his face, hands, and leg when he hit the ground.
Agents said Philippe made it right to I-95 where representatives arrested her and Robinson. Phillipe told appointees she didn’t realize Robinson intended to shoplift at the store.
She is being held at the Indian River County Jail without bail. Notwithstanding the endeavored murder allegation, she faces crime crazy driving with genuine substantial injury, leaving the area of an accident including injury, oppose vendor and offense shoplifting/retail robbery.
