SCRANTON SCHOOL BUS STRUCK BY VEHICLE

SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENT NEAR SCRANTON    One person was transported to the hospital following a 3 vehicle accident Thursday morning near Scranton on Highway 109 at 7:30am.   Trooper James Ray of the Arkansas State Police investigated the accident and reports that Mycalia Goines age 26 of New Blaine was driving a newer model Ford Explorer when she ran into the rear of a 2007 Ford F150 pickup that was stopped on Highway 109.   The Ford pickup was driven by Betsy Richardson age 36 of New Blaine, she was stopped behind a school bus that was also stopped in the roadway loading a passenger.    The impact forced Richardson’s vehicle into the rear of the Scranton School bus.   There were 34 passengers on the bus at the time, which was driven by Sandra Cox age 51 of Scranton.   None of the occupants of the bus were injured.   Richardson was transported to Johnson Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.   Goines went by private vehicle to the hospital for examination.   Goines was cited for careless or prohibited driving.
