Pioneer Village Christmas Plans
Pioneer Village Plans Drive-Thru Light Display for Christmas Event
According to the Cleveland County Herald, in lieu of a traditional Christmas in the Village festival, the Pioneer Village at Rison plans to transform the Village into a drive-thru light display as a precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is set to take place from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on each Friday and Saturday in December leading up to Christmas.
“With the current pandemic, it became too challenging and too risky to hold our traditional festival,” said Malinda Berry, president of the Pioneer Village. “We hope the community will enjoy our alternative event this year to help everyone celebrate the holidays safely.”
As the Breakfast with Santa event that usually highlights the festival cannot happen, Santa Claus will make an appearance at the drive-thru each evening.
