Contact tracing underway after Auburn elementary worker tests positive for COVID-19
Officials in Cayuga County say a member of the Owasco Elementary School staff has tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The person did not have any contact with students, according to public health officials, as students in Auburn have reportedly not yet attended fully in-person classes.
The person infected is in mandatory isolation since testing positive. The staffer worked in the school on Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday.
The District said in an update it was unclear at this point what other staff members may have come into contact with the worker, but that contact tracing was taking place.
