Hearing in fatal Canandaigua stabbing case set for August
A Huntley Hearing is scheduled for next month in the case of a Fairport man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend in the town of Canandaigua just after the new year.
The hearing to determine if statements made by William Fricke to police can be used at his trial is set for August 12th, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The 67-year-old is charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in the death of Julianne Baker. Prosecutors alleged Fricke stabbed the 57-year-old either during, or after physically removing her from the West Lake Road home where her body was later found.
A 62-year old Rochester attorney was also stabbed at the house and survived. He later identified Fricke as the suspect.
