Shed the Meds event in Auburn this Saturday
I wanted to make you aware of an event I am hosting called “Shed the Meds” with Sheriff Schenck this Saturday, August 1st from 10:00am – Noon. The event will take place at the Auburn Walgreens, located at 314 Genesee Street. I encourage all local residents to come and safely dispose of unneeded medications.
Safe disposal of unneeded medication is critical for both our environment and the health of our community. I am proud to partner with Sheriff Schenck and the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department to bring this opportunity to our area. Medications that are disposed of improperly can make their way into our lakes and waterways, damaging water quality and our environment. It is important to properly dispose of unused medications and keep them out of our water and this event provides a free and convenient way to do that for local residents.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact my office if I can be of further assistance to you or your family.
