2 MORE CHARGED IN JOHNSON COUNTY HOMICIDE FROM 2018
Two more subjects have been charged in connection with the death of Dewane Ledbetter in January of 2018. On Friday, Jessica Marie Morgan Waddill 22 of Clarksville was charged with hindering apprehension and 2 counts of tampering with physical evidence; Emilio Cortez 24 of Clarksville was charged with hindering apprehension and 2 counts of tampering with physical evidence. Dewane Ledbetter’s body was found shot on burned on off of Highway 123 near Hagarville on Jan. 22nd of 2018. Waddill is reported to have helped the shooter, Brian White, wash White’s clothes after the shooting and helped wash out the truck they transported the body in. The truck used to transport the body belonged to Cortez father. Cortez accompanied White and Zachary Geels to the location near Hargarville where the body was dumped and burned. Brian White was sentenced to 32 years in prison, Zachary Geels to 30 years and Phillip Raible to 20 years back in April of last year for the murder of Ledbetter.
