Jun 1, 2020 | ,

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department reports that a Boniface Ramos was arrested last week after he was found to be in possession of stolen property.    Sheriff Jason Massey issued a statement over the weekend about the arrest:

On May 26, 2020, investigators from our Criminal Investigation Division and I were on Whippoorwill Road in Logan County west of Booneville looking for stolen property when Lt. Kieth Lunsford and Investigator Albert Brown came across Boniface Ramos, 34, sitting in a car in front of a camper. There was a Smith & Wesson .380 semi-auto handgun laying on the dashboard in front of him. Ramos is a convicted felon and has a felony probation revocation warrant out of Logan County. He was arrested and the handgun was checked and came back stolen from Ozark. We all arrived and searched the location. There was a trail near his vehicle and Investigators Heath Chambers and Johnny Bolinger found a 2017 KTM 390 sport bike worth approximately $4,500.00 just down the trail in the woods. The bike was checked and was reported stolen from Fort Smith. The motorcycle and handgun were seized and the Ozark and Fort Smith Police Departments were notified. Ramos was arrest and transported to the Logan County Detention Center and is being held on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, theft by receiving, and probation revocation. The investigation continues on others involved in the thefts.
