Penn Yan woman charged after vehicle pursuit she was not involved in
A Penn Yan woman was arrested following a pursuit over the weekend.
Samantha Hansen, 30, of Penn Yan was found to have rented a pickup truck that another person, identified as John Northrup, was operating. When police saw Northrup operating the truck – he took off.
Due to road and weather conditions the pursuit was called off as Northrup went down Outlet Road.
An investigation into the truck revealed that Hansen rented it in her name, and allowed Northrup to drive it.
Police say she knew that his license was suspended. She was charged with conspiracy and facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation.
The pickup truck was later found in Dresden, but Northrup remains at-large after the pursuit.
