South Sioux City Police Officer Honored For 40 Years Of Service

Feb 13, 2020 | ,

(KVHT) – A South Sioux City police officer has been recognized for a milestone anniversary — and he says it will be his last. Lt. Chris Chernock was honored earlier this week for 40 years of service to the department. Chernock joined the force right after serving in the military. He says, as much as he loves the job and the city, he’s looking forward to some time off. The police Lt. will retire following this year of service, saying he plans to do more with his family as he steps away from the department sometime this summer.
