Hopewell man arrested on felony charge after Econolodge domestic incident
Deputies in Ontario County arrested a 51-year-old Hopewell man after a domestic incident at the Econolodge located at 4232 State Route 5&20.
The incident occurred on January 19th and investigators determined that John Spiers, 51, of Hopewell prevented the female victim from calling 911.
An order of protection was active on behalf of the victim. Deputies say that due to that fact, Spiers was arrested on an aggravated family offense charge, which is a felony.
He was also arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief due to him violating that order of protection.
He was transported to the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
