Cuomo Picks Date For 27th Congressional District Special Election
Governor Andrew Cuomo has set the date for the special election to fill the seat vacated by former Congressman Chris Collins.
The date was set as April 28th, which is the same date as the state’s presidential primary.
Critics say that the date gives Democrats an unfair advantage, at a point when Republicans will not turn out as heavily to the polls.
Meanwhile, Cuomo and other Democrats have said that this is the most-efficient way to keep costs of the special election down.
The western part of Ontario County is included in the 27th Congressional District; the seat vacated by Collins after he admitted tobeing guilty of insider trading.
