Grand Jury indicts man accused of robbing Phelps convenience store
An Ontario County grand jury has indicted the 28-year-old Lyons man accused of robbing the 7-Eleven convenience store off Route 14 in Phelps last month.
Brandon Burgess is facing felony charges of robbery, grand larceny, tampering with physical evidence and criminal mischief.
Burgess led police on a manhunt for approximately 36 hours following the robbery. The grand larceny charge stems from Burgess allegedly stealing tools valued at more than 28-hundred dollars from a Phelps job site .
The Finger Lakes Times reports the case against Burgess is currently delayed until he is declared mentally competent to stand trial.
