Staging for Prima Vista Construction Underway
Contractors have begun staging equipment and surveying Prima Vista Boulevard for the upcoming construction, which is slated to begin this month.
Funding by the voter-approval of the half-cent sales tax increase in 2018, this $3.3 million project includes resurfacing, ADA improvements along the sidewalk and drainage improvements, such as the removal and replacement of culverts.
Maintenance of traffic is underway for the drainage work at the intersection of Prima Vista Boulevard and U.S. 1. The drainage work will be done first and will take approximately 30 days (weather permitting). There will be lane closures on Prima Vista Boulevard and U.S. 1 to accommodate the replacement of the drainage pipes, these closures will remain in place until the work is complete due to dewatering operations to install the pipes. Delays should be anticipated throughout the project due to lane closures as we complete these improvements.
While the drainage work is being performed, the work on the ADA ramps along Prima Vista Bouelvard will begin. Temporary lane closures are anticipated at each intersection, while work is being completed. Lane closures will only take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday unless the contractor requests to work additional hours.
Paving operations are not anticipated to begin until early 2020 with final project completion October 2020.
