Albertsons asks customers not to openly carry guns into its stores

Sep 11, 2019 | ,

Albertsons is the latest retailer to ask customers not to openly carry guns into its stores. The Boise-based grocery store chain grows a growing number of national retailers making such requests in response to mass shootings. Albertsons’ two biggest grocery competitors, Walmart and Krogers, made similar requests last week. Kroger owns Fred Meyer.

The Idaho Statesman reports Albertsons tweeted on its corporate account, “We want our stores to feel safe and welcoming for all, so we respectfully ask customers to not openly carry firearms in our stores unless they are authorized law enforcement officers.”
