Yankton Road Projects On Track
(KVHT) – City road infrastructure projects in Yankton are on track according to city officials. And, some of those projects have been finished in spite of the heavy rains that have hit the area this spring. Currently, according to Yankton Civil Engineer Brad Moser, the only major ongoing city street project in Yankton is the reconstruction of 21st Street from Broadway Avenue to Douglas Avenue. Moser says the Douglas intersection will be closed as City workers take on the biggest parts of the project. Sanitary sewer manholes need to be replaced and a large section of storm sewer will be put in which will need to be tied into the water main at that location. That intersection has been closed and is expected to remain closed through the beginning of August. The city is also set to see updates of two railroad crossings. One on West City Limits Road and the other on 15th Street. Moser said the timeline for these projects rests with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.
