Hartington Nebraska Is One Historic Town
(KVHT) – Residents in Hartington Nebraska have always known their town was unique, and now thanks to a new designation the rest of the country may soon know it too! According to National Register Coordinator David Calease, official notification was received by his office last week stating that downtown Hartington had been placed on the National Historic Register as an Historic District. The downtown joins several other Hartington landmarks on the registry including the Hartington City Auditorium, the Historic Hartington Hotel and the Cedar County Courthouse. The town’s Carnegie Library was also recently named to the registry. The city’s mayor, Mark Becker called anything that helps to distinguish Hartington from other communities is always a plus.
