Neighborhood Advisory Committee Vacancies – Golden Gate, Jensen Beach, Old Palm City & Rio

The Martin County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications from individuals interested in volunteering to serve on the Golden Gate, Jensen Beach, Old Palm City, or Rio Neighborhood Advisory Committees (NAC).  The Committee makes recommendations to the Martin County Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) regarding implementation of each area’s Community Redevelopment Plan.
To qualify, you must be an individual who is either:

i.      A resident of the respective Community Redevelopment Area, as evidenced by being a registered voter in the respective Community Redevelopment Area for at least one year, or

ii.    A resident of Martin County, as evidenced by being a registered voter in Martin County for at least one year, who is also a business owner of a business located within the respective Community Redevelopment Area; or

iii.   A resident of Martin County, as evidenced by being a registered voter in Martin County for at least two years, who is also a senior manager of a business located within the respective Community Redevelopment Area; or

iv.   A resident of Martin County, as evidenced by being a registered voter in Martin County for at least one year, who also owns real property within a mile of the respective Community Redevelopment Area. No more than two members of any respective Neighborhood Advisory Committee will be appointed from category iv. above.

These are four-year terms.
Golden Gate meetings are typically held on the first Monday of every other month at 6pm at the Cassidy Community Center.  Next meetings are:  August 5, October 7, and December 2.
Jensen Beach meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of every other month at 5pm at the Jensen Beach Community Center.  Next meetings are:  July 10, September 4, and November 6.
Old Palm City meetings are typically held the third Monday of every other month at 6pm at the Palm City Community Center.  Next meetings are:  August 19, October 21, and December 16.
Rio meetings are typically held on fourth Thursday of every other month at 6pm at the Vincent Bocchino Community Center.  Next meetings are:  July 25, September 26, and November 14.
All members are expected to attend each and every meeting of the committee. If a member is absent from three meetings of the Committee within a twelve-month period, said member is automatically removed from the Committee but may apply for re-appointment by the Board.
Florida Law prohibits an advisory board member from doing business with its agency (the County).  Section 112.313(3) and (7), Fla. Stat.
