FORT HUNTER — Veterans Powwow, in conjunction with Canal Days, will be held Friday through Sunday, July 5, 6 and 7, at the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site, 129 Schoharie St.
Gates will open at 10 a.m. daily, and grand entry will be at noon, honoring veterans, Gold Star Mothers and Fathers, police, firefighters and first responders.
Native dancing, native food, storytelling, kids’ candy dance and native flute music will be included. An auction will be held on July 6 at 7 p.m. Native and non-native items will be auctioned off.
Donations at gate will be $5 for adults and $3 for seniors. Admission will be free for kids under 6, vets with proper ID, the handicapped and nursing home residents.
