PSL arrested and charged juvenile male with robbery by sudden snatching
PORT SAINT LUCIE, Florida (YN) – On Tuesday June 11, 2019, at around 6:30 pm, Police went to the 400 block of NW Prima Vista Boulevard for reports of a robbery by sudden snatching involving a juvenile male suspect. The suspect snatched a cell phone from the victim and fled the area.
During the investigation police learned the victim and the suspect initially met at “Online Offer-Up” where they agreed to later meet at the 400 Block of NW Prima Vista Blvd for the sale/ transaction of the victim’s iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 was priced at $500.00 and the suspect had agreed to the price. During their meet-up at the 400 block of NW Prima Vista Blvd, the suspect handed the victim a white envelope (with a $10 bill, $1 bill and white folded paper) and then snatched the iPhone from the victim. The suspect fled the area toward a wooded lot. The victim immediately called 9-1-1 and provided the suspect’s description. Police surrounded the area; K-9 responded and successfully tracked to the suspect’s location (100 block of NW Hibiscus Street). Police conducted a show-up and the victim positively identified the suspect. Further investigation revealed the iPhone was located inside of the suspect’s bedroom. No injuries were reported. No weapons were involved. The suspect was arrested and charged with Robbery by Sudden Snatching. The suspect was taken into custody by police and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
