Chehalis seeking artists to paint downtown benches
Calling all artists! The Chehalis Community Renaissance Team is looking for proposals for designs that will be painted on three new wooden benches that be placed in downtown Chehalis this year. This follows up on the benches that were done last year. CCRT director Annalee Tobey says they are looking for designs that reflect the Chehalis community. Themes include:railroads, nature (i.e. mountains, rivers, fores, etc.), Area History/Historic people, Weather (i.e.sunshine, clouds, raindrops, etc.), Western, Wildlife (butterfly, deer, elk, fish, birds, etc,), Agriculture, Local culture and events.
Tobey says interested artists are asked to submit up to three designs by March 15. More information is available online at experiencechehalis dot com or by calling 360-345-1738.
Selected artists will be announced later this month. A $250 stipend will be given to each artist selected for painting a bench.
