Sentencing Hearing Set for This Morning

Feb 11, 2019 |

Clovis, NM (KFDA) - Sentencing is set to take place this morning for Nathaniel Jouett who has already pled guilty to all charges stemming from the mass shooting that occurred at the Clovis Carver Public Library in August of 2017. That incident resulted in the deaths of library employees Wanda Walters and Kristina Carter and injured four others. Last December, Judge James Hudson ruled that Jouett was not eligible for an amenability hearing that would have allowed him to enter into a rehabilitation and be released when he turned 21, KFDA reports. Today’s sentencing is set to take place this morning at nine o’clock in Clovis. Jouett’s sentence could range from probation up to two life sentences plus 96 years.
