Warsaw, NY (WCJW CJ Country) – A warning is out about a dangerous invasive plant in Western New York. The State DEC says the Giant Hogweed has been reported in all eight counties of the region. Contact with the plant can cause serious skin and eye irritation, painful blistering, permanent scarring and blindness. The State DEC is looking for locations where the Giant Hogweed is growing. Anyone that comes across the plant is asked to call the state’s giant hogweed hotline. The number is 1-845-256-3111.
