Paris Police Report Scam

Jul 12, 2018 |

Tuesday, the Paris Police Department was informed by a resident and business owner that someone called him pretending to represent the Paris Police Department. The caller ID showed Paris Police Department, along with our phone number (479)963-2600. The caller told the resident that the Paris Police Department had a warrant for his arrest. The caller also told him he either needed to turn himself in, or get a green dot card and put money on it. THIS IS A SCAM! Police remind the public that they do not call people about warrants. If someone calls you, even if your caller ID shows Paris Police Department and gives our number, hang up on the caller! This scam is a slight variation of several other current scams purporting to come from law enforcement and threatening arrest, or asking for payment.
